Great Stationery Find: Sarasa
I found this 10 count pack of Sarasa pens at my local CVS, and I have not been disappointed! I love taking chances on new stationery, but I was skeptical about these at first. They were expensive for me, a broke college student, at around $20. I couldn't really afford to spend that amount of money on pens that may or may not work, but these have become my favorite pens. As you may know if you've seen my YouTube channel, I have loved my LePen pens for months, but these go above and beyond. They dry quickly so I never smear the ink in the smooth pages of my bullet journal. I've had them for about a month and have used them all relentlessly, almost every day, and the nib is still exactly how it was when I first bought them. No flattening There are only 4 minor drawbacks that I have seen:
The red doesn't show up like a "true" red. It's more of a Light reddish-orange (some may even call it peach or coral). You'll have to find a different pen if you want a darker red. I recommend swatching them first.
I couldn't find a good everyday use for the yellow. It's so light that it doesn't show up well on creme-colored bujo paper, but it does show up better on white paper. It probably won't shoe up at all on black journaling paper. Maybe use this one for art and drawings instead of writing.
The nibs are a bit scratchy, and this is a sensation that takes some getting used to. Every time I pick up these pens after using a set of gel pens, I always feel like I'm damaging the nib even though I'm not.
I couldn't find a way to see the ink level without damaging the pens, which could be a problem if you only buy one pack and find yourself running out of ink. Suggestion: buy 2 packs at a time if you can just in case a pen is defective or runs dry.
Overall, this is a great purchase, and I really love these pens! Drop your Sarasa suggestions, ideas, and art in the comments!
